Aspiring Law Administrator Carol Stevens with the welcome pack for Age Concern’s “Dignity Champions” initiative.

Firm Director Janice Hughes says the Aspiring Law team works extensively with older people, and signed up as Dignity Champions to mark International Day of Older Persons, which was celebrated last month.

“Estate and elder law are two of our speciality areas, and this felt like a meaningful and tangible way to underscore our commitment to our seniors and their rights, and encourage others to do the same.”

  • As part of the Dignity Champions’ pledge, the Aspiring Law team undertakes to:
  • Reject stereotypes and focus on the uniqueness of every individual
  • Speak up when they hear people speaking negatively about growing old
  • Have the courage to question practices they feel are disrespectful to older people
  • Not patronise older people
  • Be patient, polite and friendly
  • Have zero tolerance for abuse or neglect
  • Build relationships – combat isolation and loneliness by getting to know the older people in their lives
