Sophie was admitted to the bar earlier this year and joins Aspiring Law with the intent of working across all aspects of the business.
She has made the move from Auckland firm Bell Gully where she worked for the general litigation team specialising in large commercial contractual disputes, construction contracts and regulatory work.
Originally from the West Coast of the South Island, Sophie has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Canterbury. She says, “I’m delighted to have moved to Wanaka to
work for Aspiring Law. I’m keen to learn from the experienced team here, and bring a positive,
can-do, down to earth attitude to the practice. When it comes to clients, I genuinely care about
finding resolutions to their legal problems and I am focused on finding the best solution possible for our clients.”
Sophie’s love of the great outdoors was a huge motivation for moving to Wanaka; hiking is a passion and she has been a tramping guide for up to eleven clients on backcountry tramps in the South Island. She is also a qualified raft guide and has led expeditions in Zambia, Europe and New Zealand. A keen biker, skier and trail runner, she also loves gardening and cooking.
