A current proposal from the Ministry of Business and Innovation (MBIE) would make it easier to build small, detached dwellings by removing the requirements for building and resource consents.
There is bound to be some form of checks and balances in place to comply with the Building Act though. Consultation is currently taking place and we’ll keep you posted.
