James Lovelock

James brings expansive knowledge and experience across both legal practice and law firm management to Aspiring Law.  

Having previously been the Managing Partner of a well-known Dunedin law firm and then run his own successful management consultancy business for almost a decade, James is now tasked with ensuring we are continually working to optimise our business, focusing on quality leadership and mentoring, cohesive team structuring, effective strategic planning and operational best practice.

James also continues to hold independent Governance roles with several business and community entities. He has a particular interest in cricket and has previously served as the Chairman of Otago Cricket, a New Zealand Cricket Match Referee and Team / Selection Manager for the Otago Volts.

Outside of work James balances quality family time with his enjoyment of sport, travel and community involvement. He relishes the opportunity to live in beautiful Wanaka having holidayed here since his early years growing up in rural West Otago.
